Stunning creations Lisa! In relation to this "but participating in the Project somehow gives me permission and space to fully immerse myself in a particular topic or technique. It feels good to be in that mode" You talk about the big group energy of the 100 day project. Apart from the benefits you've mentioned, what is it about this energy that helps you? I've never undertaken the 100 day project. My initial feeling is that it would be a huge undertaking and it would require considerable energy indeed.

Thanks, Jodie. It's a big undertaking, but it's possible to make it manageable because each person is in charge of choosing the details about their project. My project was about experimenting with leaf forms in some way every day. Most days that meant that I made a leaf. Some days I made part of a leaf, and some days I worked on putting leaf motifs into projects. I made the goal flexible.

The big group energy is what you might feel if you were singing in a very large chorus. Sure it's fun to sing alone, but when the whole chorus is singing, the energy of the group itself feeds the individual singers. Being part of that big sound and feeling the connection to the other singers is powerful.

For the 100 Day Project, part of the fun is meeting other artists and seeing what they are doing. That feeling of "we're all in this together" might help individual artists hang in there with the daily commitment.
